Website hosting, security and maintenance
Most owners do not want to think about hosting. They want the site to be up, current, backed up, and somebody to call when it is not. That is what this is.
Short answer
We provide managed hosting for the sites we build and maintain, starting at $100/month and typically running $100–$450/month depending on the size of the site and how much monthly work it needs. It covers business-class hosting, SSL, daily backups, security monitoring, WordPress and plugin updates, included update hours, and priority support. We are not a discount host and we do not sell hosting on its own.

01What managed hosting actually includes
The word “hosting” covers two very different products. One is disk space. The other is somebody being responsible for the site staying online and current.
- Business-class hosting and SSL
- The site runs on business hosting with an SSL certificate installed and renewed. You do not manage a control panel or a certificate expiry date.
- Daily backups
- A daily restore point, kept off the server. If a plugin update or a bad edit breaks something, the fix is a restore rather than a rebuild.
- Security monitoring
- The site is monitored for downtime and for the common compromise patterns that hit WordPress sites. Problems get found by us, not by your customers.
- WordPress and plugin updates
- Core and plugin updates applied on a regular schedule and checked afterwards. This is the single most common reason an unmaintained site eventually breaks or gets hacked.
- Included update hours
- A monthly allowance for real content changes — new staff, new services, updated pricing, a seasonal banner. Small edits do not turn into invoices.
- Priority support
- A direct line to the people who built the site, rather than a ticket queue staffed by somebody seeing it for the first time.

These are real starting figures. The variable is almost always how much monthly work the site needs, not how much traffic it gets.
03Who this is not for
Worth saying plainly, because it saves everybody a phone call.
- If you are shopping on price per month, this is the wrong product. Shared hosting is available for a few dollars a month and it genuinely works. What it does not include is anybody noticing when your site goes down.
- If you have an in-house developer, you probably want raw hosting and control, not a managed layer on top of it.
- If you only need somewhere to park a domain, your registrar already does that for free.
- If you want hosting with no relationship to the build, we are not the best fit — the value here comes from the same people knowing the site.
The people this suits are owners who have been burned once by a site that quietly broke, went stale, or got compromised while nobody was watching it.
04Moving a site you already have
Migration is routine, but it is not automatic. Before moving anything we review the current site so we know what we are taking responsibility for.
- Review of the existing build, plugins, and any custom code
- Full backup taken before anything moves
- Staging copy tested before the domain is pointed
- DNS and email checked so mail does not stop when the site moves

Downtime on a straightforward migration is usually minutes, scheduled outside business hours.
Common questions
Do I have to host with you to have you build my site?
No. We can build a site and hand it to whatever host you prefer, including one you already pay for. Hosting with us is a convenience, not a condition of the project.
Is this cheaper than a budget host?
No, and it is not trying to be. A discount host sells you server space. This is server space plus updates, backups, monitoring, and a person who answers when something breaks. If price per gigabyte is the deciding factor, a budget host is the right call.
Can you host a site somebody else built?
Usually yes, if it is a standard WordPress, Shopify, or static build and we can review it first. We check the site over before migrating so we are not taking on responsibility for problems we cannot see.
What happens to my site if I stop hosting with you?
You take it with you. The site, the content, and the domain are yours in writing. We provide a full export and help point the domain wherever you are going.
Do you provide email as well?
Business email accounts are included on managed hosting plans. Many clients keep email with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 instead, which we are happy to set up and point correctly.
